MEMORIAL DAY 2012 Team Georgia Baseball Academy and Team Elite will be partnering to host our 1st Annual Memorial Day Invitational this year from May 25, 2012 - May 28, 2012. Age groups are 14U-18U. The games will be played at fields in the North Atlanta area, including some college fields. In the past both Team Georgia and Team Elite have run their own separate tournaments during Memorial Day weekend. We have decided it is better to pool our resources and work together to create one event. Last year, nearly 60 teams participated in the two events . This year we have more fields reserved so we can accommodate more teams. We will be glad to look at any special requests you may have (i.e. If you want to play only teams in your age group or play up an age group, or request a specific location, etc.). We want to be user friendly and accommodate as many requests as possible. Please note only 16U-18U teams will be considered to play on the college fields. The event is a four game showcase style event. An email will be going out to over 100 college coaches and scouts notifying them of the event and a schedule of games will also be sent out about a week before the event. This event was well attended last year by college and professional teams Preliminary tournament details are listed below. A more complete set of rules will be available as we get closer to the event. - Age groups (14,15,16,17,18) - Aluminum or Wood Bats (to be agreed on by teams) - 4 game maximum - Provide 2-3 game balls per game - 2 hour time limit with no inning starting after an 1 hour and 55 minutes - $600 tourney cost for 1 team in event and $550 for multiple teams - Free substitution (Since some of your players will still be in high school playoffs) - $5 gate fee for adults / $3 for children 12 and under Note: A Hotel list will be provided to out of town teams by 2/1/2012 If you are interested in the tournament, or have any questions, please contact either Coach Chris McRaney (Chris_mcraney@hotmail.com, 678-296-4737) or Coach Brad Bouras (bbouras11@hotmail.com, 404-396-1554).
